FAM is compatible with both Intel and AMD 64 bit processors environments. Simply install FAM onto any machine and it will auto detect which driver to install.
Enhanced Caching Logic
FAM allows the backup of an open file, by monitoring the file system and then copying the part of the file that is about to be changed to temporary cache. The write is then made by the application and the backup software will receive a copy of the file as it was when the backup started.
File System, Networked Computer and Mapped Drive Support
FAM was designed to work in a heterogeneous computing environment, by offering support for both Windows file systems (NTFS, FAT32) and network file systems. FAM will also support a networked computing environment by allowing access to open, locked and in-use files over mapped drives and networked computers. Installing FAM on computer A and computer B, would allow computer A to backup exclusive, in-use and locked files residing on computer B.

NTFS Alternate Data Streams
File Access Manager (FAM) has the ability to give your backup software access to Alternate Data Streams (ADS). What is Alternate Data Streams? ADS allows data to be stored in hidden files that are linked to a normal visible file, streams are not limited in size and there can be more than one stream linked to a normal file.
